A young pregnant housewife Edie Canody loves her husband Benjamin, but when his father suddenly passes away, they must return to his hometown of Loves Park, Illinois to attend the funeral. But leaving home proves difficult when he is asked to take over the family pipe factory. Edie soon befriends a young neighbor who begins to erode at her new status as mother and wife. She must make a difficult choice and learn to cut the cord before it’s too late.
